AWS (Amazon Web Services), the subsidiary of Amazon, recently announced that the first AWS IoT Lab in Greater China will be located in Taipei, with an aim to speed up the deployment of IoT applications in the region, the China Times reported on March 8. Through the lab, clients can have the access to over 165 quality hardware and software solutions provided by the partners of the AWS Partner Network (APN). The solutions will enable a billion of devices to connect to the cloud so clients from all sectors can collect, store, and analyze their data to build their own solutions to address a wide range of problems. The lab will also provide hardware pre-certification and certification services to speed up the deployment of IoT applications. First batch of AWS IoT Lab partners include the ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), SoftChef, QNAP Systems, CEC Engine, Lite-On, and Sinomos.
